The Springs - April at St. Anthony's

We had a wonderful time at St. Anthony's once again. (See postings from November.)

The wildflowers were in full bloom and I so enjoyed walking the grounds.

I arrived a day early so that I could personally retreat before the other women arrived. What a wonderful time for me to reconnect with the Lord.

Lunch Bunch

One of the faculty members who comes to Lunch Bunch, wrote this about our Thursday Bible discussions at SJSU:

Our group bible study has been an effective way to strengthen the spiritual growth of the participants. Reading the bible provides a connection to God and guides us in our attempt to make God the center of our lives. I enjoy our meetings, since the people who attend are wonderful, caring individuals.

Luann leads our Bible study sessions. They have provided a very fulfilling experience for me during the year and a half that I have participated. Luann provides historical background information that helps us understand the context of our readings. She also provides questions that we reflect on as we read the passages, to give us more insight into what we are reading. We often try to imagine what it would have been like to have been the people we are reading about, to gain a real appreciation for the scripture lessons and how they relate to us.

We have come to understand that we have a loving God who was willing to sacrifice his Son to save us. God wants us to be humble servants. By caring for others, God can continue to work through us.
